Pratt & Whitney Canada seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team dedicated to support manufacturability and production readiness for turbo machinery components.
Responsibilities Lead a team of manufacturing experts located in Canada and Poland to address all aspects of producibility for current and future engine parts, focusing on manufacturing engineering points of concern (WIM-1048).
Develop and implement methods, tools, and metrics to achieve manufacturing‑ready designs that meet Zero Non‑Conformance (ZNC) targets on time, reproducibly, and at target cost.
Approve manufacturing aspects of drawings within the IPT.
Collaborate with NPI IPT and Industrialization teams to review all turbo machinery module components, sourcing and manufacturing strategies, including PPAP plans and mitigation for common hardware issues.
Create producibility knowledge documentation based on market feedback and new technologies.
Contribute to cost‑reduction initiatives at the turbo machinery module level, in partnership with Strategic Sourcing and suppliers.
Ensure commitments, budget tracking, and resource planning are met.
Maintain continuous interaction with MED and PWEH to leverage the latest technological advancements in mechanical manufacturing.
Promote and influence design teams to adopt appropriate and innovative manufacturing processes that support performance, quality, and cost objectives.
Assist in manufacturing technology research with MED, internal operations, Engineering R&D, and PWEH as needed.
Qualifications Engineering degree with a minimum of 15 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering is an asset.
Proven ability to manage a team and demonstrate strong leadership.
Excellent communication skills internally and externally.
Understanding of manufacturing methods, production readiness approaches (MRL, APQP, SPC, Process Certification).
Good knowledge of gas turbines and associated quality processes.
Solid knowledge of RLPM (MMP 220), IPT (MMP 219), and Transition (MMP 300) processes and methodologies.
Ability to create, lead, and embed a vision, mission, and sense of belonging across a geographically distributed team.
Adaptability, ability to work under pressure, and tolerance for changing priorities.
Availability for travel on short notice and support for outside‑normal‑hours requests.
Strong written and spoken English proficiency for daily documentation and communication.
Ability to submit for criminal background checks and necessary clearances; employment contingent upon successful completion of these checks.
