The A220 Commercial Aircraft Program is looking for a Tooling Specialist to join our tooling team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada). The Airbus Canada Tooling Department plays a vital role in supporting the production of the Airbus A220 program across our Mirabel (Quebec) and Mobile (Alabama) sites.
By joining our team, you will be responsible for designing, providing, and maintaining the equipment required for the Final Assembly Lines (FAL). Our team structure promotes autonomous cross‑functional collaboration within an environment that values mutual support and collective learning.
We manage full‑cycle projects of all sizes, featuring innovative solutions such as aircraft mezzanines, lifting equipment, robotic assembly stations, and aircraft transport and access tools.
Your primary role will be to ensure project progress while strictly adhering to deadlines, budgets, and costs, and to ensure every delivered solution meets the highest quality and safety standards in compliance with Airbus norms, health and safety criteria, and the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec requirements.

Challenges   Coordinate and lead a team of technical planners specializing in tooling estimation and purchasing.
Distribute the workload and ensure the technical skill development of your collaborators.
Develop ROMs (Rough Order of Magnitude) and delivery lead times for new projects to provide reliable budget estimates from the feasibility phases.
Manage and take responsibility for a strategic purchase contract for tooling, ensuring compliance with commercial and technical clauses.
Drive supplier relationships by ensuring rigorous monitoring of critical milestones for each project.
Guarantee compliance with delivery deadlines and implement action plans in case of deviations.
Define, extract, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the activity (cost compliance, on‑time delivery, tooling quality).
Write periodic activity reports for management.
Effectively manage financial resources allocated to a project to ensure spending stays within budget while achieving defined objectives.
Collaborate closely with methods, finance, and procurement teams, as well as suppliers and external stakeholders.
Interpret, understand, and comply with technical plans and specifications.
Lead multi‑departmental meetings and ensure every collaborator is engaged.
Find solutions for various issues encountered during the project.
Present project progress reports.
Qualifications   You hold an engineering degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) in mechanical, industrial, or aeronautical engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
You hold a specialization in product design, industrial project management, or tooling (an asset).
You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the industrial sector or in a similar business manager role.
You have experience with planning, monitoring, managing deadlines and costs, and coordination between different teams.
