Our client is a leading MGA looking for a Senior Vice President. We are searching for a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to oversee its Quebec operations. This is a unique opportunity to take on a key leadership role with one of the top-performing MGAs in Canada.
About the Role
Seeking a seasoned underwriting professional to lead its Quebec office. The successful candidate will be part of the executive committee, will lead a team of experienced underwriters, and drive growth through strong broker partnerships and sound underwriting judgment. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on production and offers a pathway to further professional growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Compliance LeadershipHold and maintain a current AMF commercial license and be prepared to apply for Corporate AMF license approval within 3 months.Lead the office’s compliance efforts, including corporate licensing and OQLF requirementsServe as a Director of the CorporationUnderwriting & Portfolio ManagementOversee underwriting strategy across the SME commercial bookProvide underwriting direction and insights rooted in data and portfolio analyticsEnsure best-in-class service delivery, including 24-hour turnaround on broker quotesTeam Development & CollaborationInspire and direct a high-performing underwriting teamFoster a collaborative and positive office culture aligned with the company’s "People First" philosophySupport the recruitment and development of additional talent as the office growsBroker Relations & Market EngagementConduct regular broker visits to build and deepen relationshipsDrive production to meet and exceed premium targetsRepresent the MGA in London market negotiations with Lloyd’s brokers and syndicatesStrategic Growth & Succession PlanningPositively challenge leadership to drive operational efficiencies and profitable growthTake on a pivotal leadership role with the opportunity to shape the future direction of the organization.Candidate Profile
Minimum 10 years of commercial P&C underwriting experienceLeadership experience or strong leadership potentialFully licensed with AMF (commercial lines)CIP or FCIP designation (or in progress)Bilingual (French/English) with strong communication and interpersonal skillsResults-driven, service-oriented, and analytically mindedMotivated to lead, build, and grow a dynamic Quebec-based teamComfortable working in a fast-paced MGA environment with national and international exposureWe thank all applicants for their interest.
