What will your day look like? You will perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts to identify defects and segregate parts that do not meet specifications while following work instructions. In this role your attention to detail and analytical mindset will be essential when you:
Set up, adjust and use precision measuring instruments for dimensional inspections
Use basic functions and predefined programs on CMMs and other specialized equipment
Perform related tasks such as simple deburring, polishing, cleanliness tests and pressure/flow tests
Use the computer systems required for your work (SAP, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
You will actively contribute to workflow continuity, efficiency and compliance in the manufacturing environment by:
Ensuring parts meet applicable standards and specifications
Ordering necessary materials to maintain continuous flow
Updating relevant logs and establishing efficient operations using statistical process control
Performing other tasks such as cleaning, marking, protecting and packaging parts
You will also work with colleagues to drive improvements and raise manufacturing quality, including:
Collaborating with production to resolve quality issues
Participating in quality improvement clinics
Requirements:
Vocational diploma (DEP) in machining techniques or a college diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering or aircraft construction (aerospace engineering)
Two to five years of relevant experience in metrology
Experience in an industrial work environment
Excellent drawing-reading skills
A team player with a positive attitude
Basic knowledge of English for technical instructions and drawings
Asset knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and SAP
