Provide technical support for production equipment, with a focus on programming, setup, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. This role supports surface mount manufacturing operations, first article verification, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience with SMT equipment, inspection systems, and CAD data is required.
Key Responsibilities- Program SMT equipment and support first article verification
- Update programs for line changes and engineering change requests
- Provide front-line support for equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot printing, inspection, placement, and reflow processes
- Monitor and improve equipment performance, utilization, and changeovers
- Perform preventative maintenance and feeder calibration as required
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality and process issues
- Use inspection tools to improve yields and reduce defects
- Optimize reflow profiles and support new product introduction
- Support manufacturing readiness and continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with maintenance and technical teams to maintain productivity and quality
- Train and mentor operators on equipment operation and production requirements
- Diploma or associate degree in electrical, computer, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–3 years of equipment programming experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
- Experience with SMT equipment, inspection systems, and general machine maintenance
- Knowledge of electronic assemblies, manufacturing processes, and component standards
- Strong computer skills, including office software and CAD/BOM data handling
- Familiarity with industry workmanship and quality standards
- Understanding of ESD and quality systems
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement is an asset
