Apply five-axis CNC expertise to custom moulds and tooling as a technical lead in a high-mix, low-volume Durham Region facility.
The CNC Team Lead remains actively involved in machining while becoming a trusted technical resource across the shop floor. You will independently manage setups, tools, fixtures, work holding, programs, and offsets on three-axis and five-axis equipment. The work calls for precise drawing interpretation, troubleshooting, quality verification, and knowledge sharing. You will also connect machinists with CAM programming and management.
Key Responsibilities:- Independently manage CNC setups, tools, fixtures, and work holding
- Operate programs and offsets across machining centres
- Diagnose tooling, setup, offset, and machine performance issues
- Verify finished quality using appropriate measuring equipment
- Share technical knowledge across the CNC team
- Extensive three-axis and five-axis machining experience
- Custom precision machining background in high-mix, low-volume work
- Advanced knowledge of tooling, work holding, feeds, speeds, and measurement
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, productivity, and reliability standards
- Experience with mould making or automotive tooling is valuable
