LPC / LPC Associate Counselor – Job Description
Join to apply for the LPC / LPC Associate Counselor role at Heart light Ministries in Longview, TX (in person position).
Salary and BenefitsBase pay range: $40,000 - $60,000 per year. Paid time‑off, 401(k) match, health & dental insurance (after 60‑day waiting period). Additional compensation available through follow‑up program and crisis coaching calls.
Responsibilities- Provide one‑on‑one counseling services with 11–13 residents on a weekly basis; complete required reports (Plan of Service, Treatment Plan, counseling notes).
- Communicate concerns and insights to the Treatment Team; serve as liaison for residents requiring outside psychiatric services.
- Schedule and maintain psychiatric appointments, documentation, and communication with parents.
- Lead or participate in three weekly group meetings and assist with group program facilitation.
- Act as communication liaison between parents and the program; provide progress updates, retreat schedules, and emergency information.
- Assist with discharge documentation, follow‑up calls for graduates, and any required after‑care program.
- Participate in regular staff meetings (General Meeting, Counselor Meeting, Treatment Team Meetings).
- Attend scheduled parent and family retreats; support logistical responsibilities.
- Assist with financial receipt handling and coding for petty cash.
- Maintain program confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policies.
- Support program activities, retreats, and special events as directed.
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
- Currently licensed or in the process of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
- Experience working with adolescents and families in a ministry or similar setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present supportive information in group settings.
- Sound knowledge of confidentiality, discipline, safety, and medical reporting policies.
- Commitment to an ongoing 2‑year engagement with the program.
- Willingness to relocate to Longview, TX.
- Christian attitude and personal relationship with the Lord, reflected in daily interactions.
- Time‑management, conflict resolution, and editing skills.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, residents, and parents.
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (flexible). Participation in parent and family retreats and other program events as required.
