Overview

Texas Oncology is searching for a Certified Medical Physicist to join our East Texas Physics POD (Longview/Tyler/Palestine). The Medical Physicist will be actively working with 4 other physicists and 6 dosimetrists in the region.

Equipment within the East Texas POD consists of 7 Varian Linacs (2-True Beam, 1-Halcyon, 4 2100 C-Series). The region also operates 2 active HDR programs, via Nucletron afterloaders. Planning and verification systems include:
Eclipse, Brain Lab, Vari Seed, Oncentra, Aria, Radformation, Rad Calc. With this level of technology there are few special procedures that are not offered. Programs include: SBRT, SRS, HDR, LDR, and radiopharmaceuticals. Texas Oncology also provides many vendor webinars, its own journal club, and the opportunity to serve on many company-wide physics committees.

The candidate should have an MS or PhD degree in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two to five years’ experience in radiation oncology physics. The candidate should have a current A  certification or in the process of obtaining certification (completed part
1) and maintain a valid Texas state license for medical physics as required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all aspects of radiation oncology physics, including a good working knowledge of SRS, SBRT and HDR.
