Production/Manufacturing Manager
A non‑union manufacturing facility just outside Longview, TX. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Manager will coordinate production, quality and budget control, oversee training, and maintain a positive employee climate.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in developing and committing to plant safety procedures; direct and monitor personnel in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Lead, coach, manage, supervise, and direct production supervisors and department personnel to exceed customer expectations.
- Develop and lead production processes that maximize safety, quality, productivity, and profitability while meeting customer service standards.
- Revise standard operating practices to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
- Review production and operating reports, resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to minimize cost and avoid delays.
- Ensure production output, product quality, and on‑time shipping.
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions when necessary.
- Actively minimize scrap and customer returns while tracking quality indicators.
- Inspects machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain department cleanliness and equipment usage, creating expectations for all employees.
- Audit standards, update shift production targets, and safeguard productivity.
- Lead line‑balancing efforts and adjust as needed to meet daily and weekly business goals.
- Participate in daily shift production meetings.
- Facilitate real‑time root‑cause problem solving and ensure escalation protocols are followed.
- Coach and counsel teams, motivate them to achieve goals, and maintain effective communication.
- Assess individual and team performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Use Lean methods to optimize all processes.
- Ensure long‑term improvements are implemented and sustained.
- Serve as a key communicator for all internal messages regarding critical issues.
- 7–10 years of manufacturing operations management experience.
- B.S. degree in Business Management or related field.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to drive change, improvement, and meet productivity expectations.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing/continuous improvement methodology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Dynamic leader and active participant in positive change.
- Strong team‑building, decision‑making, and people‑management skills.
- Strong analytical and computer literacy skills.
