• Exercise independence in practice within the same or similar clinical setting and provide routine and complex care.
• Develop long-range goals or plans and manage contingencies in clinical nursing; make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed.

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) for assigned patients in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor side-effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources.

  Skills:
  
  Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience:
  
  1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Licenses, Registrations,
  
  Certifications:
  
  BLS required; RN License in state of employment or compact; ACLS certification required.
• Position Requirements:
  New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire; precepted onboarding with competency validation; possible participation in a residency program or other orientation; annual competency verification.
• Credentialing:
  Completion timelines for certifications vary by credential (e.g., ACLS within 30–90 days depending on experience); see policy for grace periods.
