COOK (FULL TIME)

Compass One Healthcare – Christus Good Shepherd Medical CTR, 700 East Marshall Avenue, Longview, TX 75601. Applications are accepted online only.

• Full‑time schedule:
  Monday–Friday, 5:00 am–3:00 pm. Weekends required.
• Fixed hourly rate: $15.00 per hour.
• Prior cook experience required.

Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring high‑quality food service at all times.

• Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare them for delivery, using correct portioning, temperature control, and presentation standards; taste all prepared food items.
• Use ticket‑collection procedures during service; record all records from the area worked during service periods.
• Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards; store or discard excess food per safe food‑handling procedures.
• Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; ensure food and supply items are stored per standards.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.
• Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required.
• Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
• Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Maintain personal commitment to safety for oneself and others.
• Abide by all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to:
  • Use of a medium‑weight cut glove when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins, or cleaning a slicer.
  • Use of oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers, or steam tables.
  • Use of slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
