Komatsu is looking for a skilled tradesperson in the Longview, TX area that specializes in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and fluid systems. This position requires extensive knowledge of mechanical components as well as safety codes and regulations. Skills include general millwright, plumbing, pipe fitting, welding and fabrication, carpentry, concrete, and heavy equipment operations. The ideal candidate will be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient.

The work of Industrial Mechanics can be physically demanding and may require kneeling, crawling, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Equipment installation and repair often require working in close quarters and using tools and measuring devices with precision.

Industrial Mechanics must understand and interpret technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, and written or verbal instructions. They should be self-motivated and able to work as part of a team. Strong communication skills and the ability to complete tasks with limited supervision are essential.

• Work safely and advocate for safety; perform risk analyses and determine safe methods for all conditions encountered.
• Read and interpret machine prints and schematics for machines, piping systems, fabrications, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Troubleshoot complex machine and process problems using a logical approach to identify and determine corrective actions, including root cause analysis.
• Plan tasks effectively from job scope to material/part needs and execution sequence.
• Perform mechanical repairs and replacements involving pneumatic and hydraulic systems, plumbing, and other fluid/piped systems and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance of mechanical power transmission equipment and align gear and belt-driven equipment.
• Demonstrate basic electrical knowledge as part of the role.

• High School Diploma or GED;
  Technical school certificate or degree in Mechanical Maintenance.
• 2 to 3 years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic or in roles requiring relevant licenses/certifications (e.g., ASE, Plumbing), with hands-on tool and machinery use.
• Computer skills, good verbal and written communication, organizational abilities, and experience preparing machine condition reports.
• Comfortable working at heights up to 60 feet.
• Must provide own tools (hand tools provided; precision measuring equipment, safety gear, large hand tools, and power tools are company provided).
• Shift: 1st Shift (6:00am-2:30pm); may require scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekend shifts, and some holidays.
• Entrance testing to determine knowledge, aptitude, and suitability for the position.
• Must be able to pass drug test and physical examination.

Hiring Range
:
At Komatsu, base pay is one part of total compensation. This role pays NA; actual offer depends on experience and location.
