Job ScopeThis position helps people achieve dignity, independence and their dreams by providing facility maintenance support including maintaining, repair and evaluating the safety of facilities to meet current federal, state and local standards. Works with the Organization Improvement Team to identify areas for improvement. Performs skilled work in one or more maintenance and building construction trades. Work involves maintaining and repairing buildings, utility systems, stationary equipment, and motorized equipment;
requisitioning material and supplies; and keeping records. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational or trade school training preferred. Current valid driver's license in state of residence.
Experience and Knowledge4 years' experience of a varied nature in repair and installation. Working knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing and heating systems, sanitation, refrigeration, electric systems, and fire and safety regulations.
Physical RequirementsReaching, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, kneeling, crouching, crawling, travel. Physical stamina to work in inclement weather and sufficient equilibrium to work on ladders, scaffolding or roofs.
