Role Overview

As a Driver Operator, you will safely operate heavy trucks and specialized equipment, ensuring cargo is loaded and unloaded correctly, managing paperwork, and performing thorough inspections. You will keep your vehicle in excellent condition, adhere to schedules, and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers. Physical stamina and willingness to work in demanding environments are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, following traffic laws, regulations, and hours‑of‑service requirements.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensure it is properly secured, and manage paperwork related to shipments.
  • Collect delivery instructions from dispatcher, verifying instructions and routes.
  • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate with dispatchers and customers, maintain accurate trip logs, and document deliveries.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Transport non‑hazardous and hazardous materials in accordance with applicable guidelines, DOT, and company safety procedures.
  • Perform industrial work and biohazard cleanups.
  • Assist in the removal of soil, debris, and cleanup of spill sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements Education & Experience
  • CDL Class A License
  • Hazmat Endorsement
  • Tanker Endorsement
  • Ability to read, write and do mathematics.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing at times.
  • Frequently lift or move items up to 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders.
  • May occasionally deal with heights.
  • Ability to wear personal equipment, including respiratory protection.
  • Consists of both office setting and physical jobsite.
  • Able to work in confined spaces when needed.
