Shipping Production Leader

* Job Description:

**** Responsibilities:
*** Leads a team of shipping and receiving personnel, providing guidance, training, and input towards performance evaluations.
* Coordinates and oversees the daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that shipments are accurately processed, packaged, and prepared for transportation.
* Collaborates with internal departments, including procurement, warehouse, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination of orders and shipments.
* Monitors inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages and maintains accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
* Ensures that shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and documented to prevent damage and errors during transit.
* Addresses and resolves any issues or discrepancies related to shipments, such as delays, damaged goods, or order discrepancies.
* Utilizes shipping software and systems to track shipments, manage inventory, and generate reports on shipping activities.
* Optimizes shipping processes and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
* Maintains a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations and guidelines.
* Provides training to new team members and conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.
* Collaborates with carriers, suppliers, and other external partners to coordinate transportation and logistics activities.
* Supports the implementation of new shipping technologies and tools to enhance operational capabilities.
* Analyzes shipping data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
* Assists in the development and implementation of shipping-related policies, procedures, and best practices.

* Education and Experience Requirements:

** High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in shipping and logistics.
** Certification(s):
**** Forklift, Crane
**** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
*** Strong knowledge of shipping processes, transportation modes, and inventory management.
* Proficiency in using shipping software and systems for tracking and reporting.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
* Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle shipping-related challenges effectively.
* Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
* Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
** Work Environment
*** Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
* Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
* Requires working in a manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
