We have a newly approved position for a Board Certified Gastroenterologist who is interested in providing occasional per diem coverage at Peace Health St. John Medical Center (SJMC) in Longview, Washington. Our hospital is a relaxing 50-60 minute drive along the scenic Columbia River, north of Portland, Oregon. You'll have the opportunity to make a difference in an underserved community as a valued member of our gastroenterology services team.

Live in Longview in a Craftsman house within walking distance of the hospital or five to ten minutes away in Columbia Valley Gardens near the golf course or in Columbia Heights with views of the valley, rivers and mountains.

• Join our 140-member multi-specialty group at St John Medical Center is a Level
  
  III, 346-bed, state of the art, community, not-for profit medical center.
• Join 3 Gastroenterologists, 2 PAs, and support staff is very knowledgeable and easy to work with.
• Our full-time physicians have 2 Clinic Days, 2 Procedure Days, 1 admin day per week. Excellent work/life balance.
• Call is 1:4 and low volume.
• Interesting patient pathology.

• Proximity to the historic Columbia River, Pacific Coast, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument and many beautiful local parks.
• Lake Sacajawea, directly across from St. John Medical Center is in the heart of Longview. A 4-mile trail circumnavigates and crosses the lake and can offer a quick, refreshing break on a busy day.
• Longview and the neighboring community of Kelso have a combined population of ~110,000 residents.
• Many locally-owned restaurants, coffee shops, brew pubs, music events and national chains such as Target, Home Depot, and Wal‑Mart. Along with a variety of grocery shopping options and April through October, a robust Farmers Market.
• Golf is also a popular sport in the area at the Longview Country Club, Mint Valley, and Three Rivers Golf Course.
• Water sports are very popular in the area; boating, sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing.
