Position Overview
The Math and Engineering Department seeks an equity‑minded statistics or data science specialist who places students at the center of decision making; is innovative and collaborative; values engagement; maintains open and efficient communication with students, faculty, staff, and administration; makes decisions informed by student‑success data; seeks opportunities to grow professionally and model current practices within the discipline; establishes and maintains an inclusive classroom culture;

LCC mathematics faculty teach 15 credits (3 sections) per quarter, advise students, and participate in shared governance. This contract position is 173 days across fall, winter, and spring with an anticipated start of September 2026. The Statistics Faculty reports to the Dean of Instruction. Courses are delivered through online, hybrid, and in‑person modalities. Salary ranges from $77,848 to $100,097 based on education and experience. Relocation funds up to $5,000 may be available for applicants moving to the LCC service district.
ResponsibilitiesTeaching
- Create a welcoming and supportive learning environment and use evidence‑based practices to support the development of diverse students.
- Use relevant instructional technologies to enhance and support active learning in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online modalities.
- Assess, evaluate, and document student learning and achievement of course outcomes, and provide feedback in ways that promote student growth and understanding.
- Provide individualized support to promote student success.
- Use data, self‑reflection, professional development, and feedback to revise instruction, improve student success, and better serve historically underrepresented and marginalized student populations.
