Lower Columbia College seeks a dynamic, energetic, and creative instructor committed to community college students and their success. This position will be responsible for teaching courses in Chemistry, including lectures and labs for general chemistry, general chemistry for health science, and organic chemistry for health sciences (CHEM&100, CHEM&121, CHEM&131). Courses are delivered through multiple modalities including online, hybrid, and in‑person.

Contract RatesLecture rate: $80.68 per contact hour ($887.48 per credit).
Lab rate: $60.08 per contact hour ($1,321.76 per credit).
Field‑based experience rate: $43.64 per contact hour ($1,440.16 per credit).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide quality instruction in the classroom and online, adapting to a variety of teaching/learning situations, and maintaining up-to-date content.
- Teach and supervise chemistry lab experiences, ensuring safe and proper use of laboratory equipment and chemicals.
- Effectively use computer applications/technology for instruction and communication as appropriate.
- Assess, evaluate, and document student learning and achievement of course outcomes; provide timely feedback and individualized support.
- Communicate and interact effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as a member of the educational team.
- Uphold LCC policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Typical QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Chemistry or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Teaching experience in the first two years of college chemistry.
- Experience using technology to enhance student learning, including a Learning Management System.
- Ability to communicate knowledge and skills in both oral and written forms to students from a broad spectrum of ages, abilities, ethnicity, education, and cultural backgrounds.
