Environmental Lab Manager

Nippon Dynawave Packaging Company (NDP) is looking for an Environmental Lab Manager to lead our Pulp and Environmental Laboratory and support site-wide environmental compliance programs. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for sustainability.

• Supervise lab technicians and promote a strong safety culture while conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with site safety policies.
• Oversee testing for NPDES compliance (TSS, BOD) and process/product quality, ensuring lab accreditation and integrity of regulatory data.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for environmental emergencies.

• Maintain compliance with NPDES permits and related regulations while overseeing chemical approval processes, inventory management, and reporting.
• Manage solid waste programs, including contractor oversight and permit adherence.

• Communicate effectively with regulatory agencies and internal teams.
• Prepare and maintain accurate environmental reports and engineering calculations.

• Lead environmental initiatives and capital projects.
• Support new process testing and ensure accurate, defensible data collection.

• BS in engineering, chemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of industrial lab testing and environmental compliance.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work in challenging environments.
• Physically able to perform inspections in remote or elevated areas.

• 7-10 years of relevant experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,070 - $120,159 with a midpoint of $100,114. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications; however, most employees are typically hired at or near the midpoint of the range.
