Texas Oncology is searching for a Certified Medical Physicist to join our East Texas Physics POD (Longview/Tyler/Palestine). The Medical Physicist will be actively working with 4 other physicists and 6 dosimetrists in the region.

Equipment within the East Texas POD consists 7 Varian Linacs, (2-True Beam, 1-Halcyon, 4 2100 C-Series). The region also operates 2 active HDR programs, via Nucletron afterloaders. Planning and verification systems include:
Eclipse, Brain Lab, Vari Seed, Oncentra, Aria , Radformation , and Rad Calc.

The candidate should have a MS or PhD degree in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two to five years’ experience in radiation oncology physics. The candidate should have a current A  certification or in the process of obtaining certification (completed part
1) and maintain a valid Texas state license for medical physics as required.

Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of Varian linear accelerators as well as Varian Vari Source ravos HDR afterloader
• Working knowledge of Eclipse and Brachyvision
• A working knowledge of MOSAIQ Radiation Oncology Information System
• Working knowledge of HDR, SBRT and SRS procedures
• Working knowledge of Radiation safety

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD degree in Medical physics from a CAMPEP accredited program
• Graduate from a CAMPEP accredited residency program
• A  board certification or in the process of obtaining certification (e.g. new resident graduate)
• Eligibility for a Texas license
• Strong organization and oral ritten communication skills
