Peace Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a Full‑time position in the Operating Room n Medical Center in Longview, Washington. Consider joining our OR Team in the following role:
- 1.0 FTE Day shift Surgical Technologist
- Work four 10‑hour shifts each week, plus rotational call
- 5 OR Suites
- Davinci XI for general and GYN

Job SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting the Surgical team during operative procedures by performing a variety of technical duties to primarily assist in responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of the surgical sterile field for the operative patient.
Essential Functions- Arrange and inventories sterile set‑up for operation and passes items as needed to the surgical team.
- Understand and apply the principles of asepsis. Establish and maintain sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment.
- Assist in preparation and moving of patients.
- Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation. Assists with clean‑up and room turnover.
- Access computer information as needed, such as preference lists and digital images.
- Participates in all safety initiatives. Adheres to programs such as SCIP and SCOAP quality initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Completion of a Surgical Technology Program or minimum of 1-year surgical technologist work experience - Preferred: 1-year surgical technologist experience in a full-service Operating Room

Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs - Required

Washington State Surgical Technologist Registration - Required

Basic Life Support Certification for healthcare provider - Preferred:
Certified Surgical Technologist
- Well organized, detail oriented and self‑motivated (Required)
- Ability to coordinate activities and work collaboratively with others (Required)
- Ability to execute detailed procedures with accuracy and precision (Required)
- Basic computer/keyboarding skills including MS Office applications (Required)
- Understanding of operating room protocols (Required)
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
- Frequent reaching/ bending/ squatting/ kneeling/ grasping.
- Lift/Carry:
Frequently up to 15 lbs. Occasionally up to 20 lbs. - Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 20 lbs. force. Occasional up to 30 lbs. force.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
