The Longview City Council has approved the contract for Jennifer Wills to serve as the next City Manager, effective immediately. Wills will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the city, implementing policies set by the City Council, managing the city’s budget and staff, and ensuring the efficient delivery of municipal services to Longview residents.
“I am thrilled and honored to step into this role as Longview’s City Manager,” said Wills. “For the past 18 years, I’ve poured my heart and soul into this community, and I'm excited to bring that same energy and commitment to building a thriving Longview for all our residents. Together, we’ll tackle challenges head-on and create a vibrant future for our city.”
Jennifer Wills holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management from Springfield College and is a Certified Park and Recreation Executive. As the Parks and Recreation Director for Longview, she managed 27 full-time employees and led projects such as transitioning Mint Valley Golf Course to city management and establishing a Public Engagement Policy to improve community communication. Her management approach focuses on setting clear goals, fostering collaboration, and creating a supportive environment for employees.
During the transition, Wills will continue to oversee the Parks and Recreation Department while the city begins an external recruitment process for a new Parks and Recreation Director.
Mayor Spencer Boudreau, on behalf of himself and the City Council, expressed gratitude to Jim Duscha for his time serving as Interim City Manager the past ten months.
