Health & Safety Specialist AS

A specialty chemicals company is looking to appoint a Health & Safety Specialist to join their EHS team in the Longview, WA area. The Health & Safety Specialist will be tasked with assisting in EHS oversight and ensuring compliance for all operations in a manufacturing setting. Reporting to the Site EHS Manager, the incumbent must possess an ability to communicate across multiple departments with the goal of developing a positive safety culture.

• Maintain EHS policies and standards to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Measure, evaluate, and recommend changes on the effectiveness of hazard management systems, policies and procedures to eliminate workplace injuries.
• Perform site health and safety investigations to ensure proper corrective and preventative measures have been implemented.
• Update all Health & Safety policies and procedures to adhere compliance to corporate standards.

• Minimum of 2 years EHS experience in a heavy industrial/chemical manufacturing setting.
• B.S. in Environmental or Safety Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA regulations and ISO
  14001 standards preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills required.
