Position Description

As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager, you will lead daily restaurant operations, ensuring guests and staff receive a passionate and superior experience. You will be a team leader, problem solver, and stress manager.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives.
  • Cultivate a culture reflecting Flynn Applebee’s core values.
  • Respond immediately to verbal guest complaints, correcting issues and engaging staff.
  • Prioritize guest contact and complete required table visits per Flynn Applebee’s standards.
  • Maintain departmental inventory levels.
  • Ensure product preparation and presentation meet company standards through line checks.
  • Schedule employees effectively to meet sales demands.
  • Maintain safety and security programs.
  • Promote and lead restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and report needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.
  • Promote quality recruitment and provide referrals for potential team members and managers.
  • Promote Flynn Applebee’s training procedures for new managers.
  • Maintain a trained staff via employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings, and company training systems.
  • Develop employees through One‑on‑One and performance documentation.
  • Provide regular feedback and assist employees with development areas.
  • Monitor performance and document situations requiring corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Control costs in assigned department.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Drive bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories on request and deliver completion.
  • Prepare and submit accurate daily paperwork.
  • Maintain sanitation standards meeting or exceeding Health Department and Flynn Applebee’s standards.
  • Act as a role model for managers and employees.
  • Develop proficiency with store‑related technology.
  • Be willing and able to work in all positions and assist where needed (line cook, expo, seating, bartending, etc.).
  • Use the Management Development Program for continuous leadership growth.
Education and Experience
  • At least 2–3 years restaurant management experience.
  • Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.
Compensation

Applebee’s® Assistant Managers earn $17.48 to $25.00 per hour, approximately $50,000 to $71,500 annually based on a 50‑hour work week, with potential monthly bonuses based on location.

Physical Standards
  • Work various shifts, including weekends.
  • Stand and move well‑paced for up to ten hours.
  • Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds.
  • Read and write to facilitate communication. Possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
