Project Estimator

Nidy Sports Construction specializes in the start-to-finish construction of athletic facilities nationwide, including tennis and shuffleboard courts, athletic fields, tracks, and play areas. Our projects combine specialized sports surfaces, advanced laser technology, and quality construction to meet demanding performance and durability standards.

Nidy is one of the few firms in the United States with an ASBA Certified Track, Tennis, and Field Builder on staff, reflecting our commitment to technical expertise and quality craftsmanship.

We are looking for an experienced Project Estimator with a strong background in sitework and heavy civil construction to join our team.

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, high-volume estimating environment and is comfortable estimating both subcontracted and self-performed work. You will prepare competitive bids, analyze project costs, work with subcontractors and suppliers, and partner with sales and operations teams from preconstruction through project handoff.

Because Nidy performs a significant amount of work in-house, a strong understanding of labor, equipment, production rates, and field operations is essential.

• Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates and proposals for sports construction and site development projects.
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to understand project scope and requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for:

Earthwork and grading

Drainage and utilities

Paving and concrete

Fencing

Athletic surfacing

Other related sitework

• Use HCSS Heavy Bid for estimating and bid management.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Analyze labor, equipment, and production costs for self-performed work.
• Manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously in a high-volume environment.
• Collaborate with sales, project management, and operations teams throughout estimating and project turnover.
• Assist with budgeting, value engineering, and project planning.

• 3+ years of estimating experience in sitework, heavy civil, sports construction, or a related construction field

• Proficiency with HCSS Heavy Bid
  .
• Experience working for a sitework or heavy civil contractor.
• Strong understanding of self-performed construction operations.
• Ability to manage a high volume of bids and smaller-scope projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of grading, utilities, drainage, paving, and concrete construction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

• Experience estimating athletic field or sports construction projects.
• Experience performing your own quantity takeoffs.
• Familiarity with municipal and commercial bid processes.
• Hands-on field experience in construction operations.
