The Design-Build Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of design-build projects, from initial concept to completion. The role requires leadership and project management skills to ensure that projects meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives. A Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Essential Functions Project Planning and Coordination- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Oversee development of project plans and timelines, aligning objectives with client requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth execution.
- Review engineering and architectural designs to ensure compliance with specifications, building codes, and regulations.
- Work with design teams to identify and resolve issues and ensure efficient, cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure design integrates energy-efficient, sustainable, and innovative solutions.
- Supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to design documents and quality standards.
- Monitor job sites regularly to verify work compliance with plan and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
- Act as primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.
- Ensure client expectations are met and deliver high customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts between clients, contractors, or project teams.
- Lead project teams, guiding and ensuring all members are aligned with project goals.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to avoid delays or cost overruns.
- Address unforeseen issues, adjusting project plans as needed.
- Ensure projects meet all applicable laws, codes, and industry standards, including energy and environmental regulations.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in building codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, changes, and correspondence.
- Prepare and submit progress reports and financial updates to senior management and clients.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or related field)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in design-build project management, particularly in construction or energy services industries
- Experience managing large-scale projects and teams
- Licensed Mechanical PE in Florida
- Valid driver’s license
- Superior verbal and written skills; strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Advanced computer skills
- Demonstrates ability to communicate at all levels
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction processes, and engineering principles
- Proficient in project management software Autodesk Build, Procore, or similar
- Detail-oriented
- Strong leadership skills
