Job Overview

Full‑Time Medical Assistant position at Gastro Health. You will work in an endoscopy office environment, assisting providers, managing patient flow, and providing direct patient care and administrative support.

• Room patients for office visits: greet, take vitals, enter history into the EMR, and update medication lists.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and supplies.
• Assist providers with rectal examinations and hemorrhoid banding procedures.
• Perform tests such as Fibroscans, bone density, and breath tests.
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications and infusion drugs.
• Track and renew infusion medication logs with insurance providers.
• Schedule follow‑up testing and procedures after office visits and from PCP requests.
• Speak Spanish or Portuguese (a plus).
• Manage phone triage and act under provider direction.
• Administer treatments and procedures in line with physician orders.
• Provide patient education and comfort to meet psychological and physiological needs.
• Process prescription refills following clinic protocol.
• Build positive relationships with clinic staff, managers, and providers.
• Initiate cross‑functional actions to ensure seamless patient care.
• Follow OSHA and state health department safety procedures.
• Complete other administrative tasks as needed.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred).
• Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) preferred.
• Endoscopy office experience required.
• Experience scheduling and taking patient vitals.
