Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in a fully onsite role, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent position is well suited for someone who is comfortable managing high-volume invoice processing and who takes pride in accuracy.

The right candidate will bring prior accounts payable experience, sound judgment when reviewing financial details, and a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.

Responsibilities:

- Process the full accounts payable cycle for a weekly invoice volume that can range from approximately 40 to 150 items.

- Review invoices for accuracy, assign the appropriate account coding, and enter payment details into the accounting system.

- Prepare and support ACH payments and check runs in accordance with established payment schedules.

- Investigate inconsistencies in invoices, pricing, or supporting documentation and raise issues when something does not align.

- Communicate with internal teams and external vendors to clarify billing questions and resolve payment-related concerns.

- Maintain organized records of invoices, approvals, and payment activity to support audit readiness and reporting needs.

- Use the company's accounts payable platform to complete daily transaction processing and update vendor payment information as needed. Requirements - At least 1 year of prior accounts payable experience with exposure to end-to-end invoice processing.

- Working knowledge of account coding, invoice review, and general accounts payable procedures.

- Experience handling electronic payments, including ACH transactions, as well as check processing.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and missing information.

- Comfortable managing fluctuating workloads while meeting deadlines in an onsite business environment.

- Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders on payment matters.
