Job Description Provides supportive services necessary for the unit operations at the OSU University Hospital Perioperative Services so that optimal quality care can be delivered. Works under the supervision of the Perioperative Nurse Manager and performing essential non-clinical administrative functions on one or more units; performs fiscal management, inventory/stock control, documentation, charge entry, and record keeping, serving as a liaison with other department as well as performing general clerical tasks.
Minimum Requirements High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. PC Knowledge and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication. BA in business administration / healthcare leadership preferred.
Per CCS Class Specs:
Six months experience (600 hours training) using computers to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex; 6 mos. experience (600 hrs course work) in office practices and procedures; 6 months experience (600 hours course work) in customer service. Some positions require one year related medical secretarial experience or completion of an associate's degree program with three courses in medical terminology plus 3 mos.
experience (300 hours training) in use of word processing equipment, consistent with position description. Some positions require 6 mos. experience (600 hrs course work) in supervision consistent with position description.
