About the RoleThe Heavy Equipment Operator position reports to the Residue Supervisor and receives direction from the Lead Equipment Operator. The duties include the safe and efficient operation of all equipment associated with the Residue System, Ferrous Recovery System, and the movement of material throughout the Facility. All system operational duties must be performed in accordance with established Residue Systems procedures.
Position Responsibilities- Receive and process materials, operating industrial equipment such as forklift, front‑end loader, skid steer, tanker truck, roll‑off truck, walking floor trailer, pressure washer, material handling equipment, conveyor systems, and various hand tools.
- Traffic control for incoming/outgoing traffic.
- Assist facility mechanic(s) with equipment repairs; take appropriate action to prevent equipment damage or personnel injury.
- Maintain housekeeping standards, perform preventative maintenance tasks, assist with minor equipment repair work, and handle municipal solid waste residue in accordance with SOPs, including painting and cleaning as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience operating industrial heavy equipment such as front‑end loader.

- Ability to walk, stand, sit and climb.
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
- Qualify to wear a full‑face respirator.
- Consistently work in various weather conditions.
Position works a 12‑hour night shift (rotating schedule covering both weekdays and weekends). Training will take place on day shift. Must have flexibility to alternate schedules based on business needs.
