Epson, a global technology leader, is seeking a dynamic Analyst II for New Business Strategy. This role offers an exciting opportunity to focus on strategic analysis, corporate development and research to identify and evaluate new business opportunities. The goal is to drive Epson’s growth beyond its core product categories, significantly increasing revenues and diversifying the business through organic and inorganic activities.
You'll play a key role in helping Epson successfully enter high-growth sectors, leveraging the company’s core strengths in precision technology, manufacturing excellence, trusted brand reputation, and deep relationships across the imaging, printing, and projection markets.
This position is based out of Epson America’s headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA with an opportunity for a hybrid schedule.
Core Responsibilities and Duties Market & Opportunity Analysis- Develop a strong understanding of new and adjacent market sectors by combining desk research with firsthand insights gathered through trade shows, industry events, and discussions with experts. Synthesize these inputs to build clear market profiles that capture key trends, drivers, challenges and growth dynamics.
- Perform market sizing and build growth forecasting models for prospective new growth areas (volume, revenue, and profitability under different scenarios).
- Identify and summarize information on key and emerging players, competitive positioning, and market dynamics in potential growth areas.
- Perform qualitative market research, including expert interviews, executive discussions and Voice of Customer (VoC) studies to understand customer needs, adoption barriers, and unmet opportunities.
- Support market studies to validate assumptions and refine go-to-market strategies.
- Identify and profile potential companies to partner with, invest in, or acquire in attractive growth sectors.
- Support preliminary financial and commercial due diligence on acquisition and partnership candidates.
- Quantify opportunities based on strategic fit with Epson’s capabilities, market presence, and technology strengths, as well as overall market potential and opportunity size.
- Executive Deliverables and Reporting
- Synthesize findings from research, analysis, and interviews into clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations that articulate potential opportunities, challenges, and strategic implications.
- Develop executive-ready reports and summaries that distill complex market and financial analyses into concise insights to inform decision‑making.
- Collaborate closely with product teams and FP&A to align findings with Epson’s broader growth and investment priorities.
- Undergraduate degree (Business, Economics, or related field) or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in growth strategy, market assessment, or related analytical work – ideally within a strategy consulting firm / M&A advisory or within a Corporate Strategy function of a large or mid‑sized corporation.
- 1 year of hands‑on experience working on M&A highly preferred (e.g., financial and commercial due diligence and target evaluation).
- Experience in market sizing, financial modeling, and performing scenario‑based analyses to evaluate impacts on revenue, costs, and profitability for potential acquisition targets and/or manufacturing partnerships.
- Experience conducting qualitative market research and market sizing, including one‑on‑one interviews with experts and industry executives.
- Exposure to or familiarity with one or more of Epson’s core markets or adjacent verticals—such as visual products, printing and imaging, projection technologies, robotics, industrial solutions, and education—with an understanding of related ecosystems or customer segments.
- Thorough, proactive, and results‑oriented – conducts rigorous, well‑researched, and detailed analyses in unfamiliar markets or technologies with the ability to manage multiple projects and maintain competing timelines.
