What You Will Do- Responsible for the management of construction, maintenance, or site services subcontracts from conception to closeout.
- Implement subcontract management in accordance with Acquisition Services Management Division and Construction Management Division or Maintenance and Site Services Division policies.
- Oversee and monitor performance in accordance with terms and conditions of complex subcontracts and DOE, Laboratory, and site‑specific requirements.
- Mentor STRs 1 & 2 in the management of LANL subcontracts.
- Provide support to more experienced sub‑contract technical representatives.
- Serve as the point of contact for technical aspects of subcontracts for moderate to high‑hazard work.
- Ensure technical oversight includes safety, security, and quality requirements.
- Maintain working relationships with contractor project managers.
- Work flexible schedules, including evenings, nights and shifts outside normal 6:00 AM‑5:30 PM.
Job Requirements
- Experience in formation and administration of construction or similar subcontracts, covering all steps from pre‑qualification to closeout.
- Working knowledge of complex multi‑tiered organizational structures.
- Experience with construction projects involving civil, structural, architectural finishes, HVAC, electrical distribution, and multi‑discipline building projects.
- Knowledge of government regulations affecting facility subcontract management.
- Leadership skills, including preparation and presentation of oral and written reports.
- Experience in safe, secure, and quality construction projects across disciplines.
- Ability to set and execute performance goals in a self‑directed and team‑leading role.
- Ability to mentor less experienced colleagues.
- Knowledge of subcontract policies and procedures within LANL and external contractors.
- Oversee diverse, multi‑disciplined projects simultaneously.
- Lead construction execution on multiple subcontract types such as build, design‑build, environmental, and renovation projects.
- Knowledge of construction oversight disciplines (Field Engineering, Superintendent, Construction Management, etc.) through multiple phases.
- Familiarity with Standard Work Process Procedures at LANL, DOE Complex facilities, and other 24/7 operational facilities.
- Experience with NQA‑1 compliant subcontract execution.
- Experience with system/component functional testing and acceptance through commissioning.
- Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to interact with all levels of the Integrated Project Team and external agencies.
- Report production to ensure schedule, cost, and KPI compliance.
- Promote open communication and teamwork.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, contracts law discipline or equivalent, plus 8 years directly related experience, or an equivalent combination.
Desired Skills- Active DOE Q Clearance.
Onsite in Los Alamos, NM, USA. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

This position requires a Q clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship. Additional background investigations are conducted by the federal government. Eligibility is governed by DOE Order 472.2 and other regulations.
