Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Senior Training Specialist position at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) in Aiken, South Carolina
.

Salary: $45/hr - $51/hr Location: Aiken, South Carolina Citizenship: US Citizenship Required Work Schedule: Full‑time, 40‑hour work week; schedule options include 5/8s, 4/10s, or 9/80s Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” clearance. (Active clearance not required to start)

Mandatory Experience Requirement – Read Before Applying

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to develop effective training materials from subject matter expert (SME) input and technical documentation.

Familiarity with Federal laws, DOE Orders (including DOE O 426.2), and industry training standards is required.

Impact

This position directly supports safe and effective operations at the Savannah River Site by ensuring personnel are properly trained and qualified in accordance with DOE standards. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining training program compliance, developing high‑quality instructional content, and guiding trainees to success.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain technical training programs using the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
  • Conduct needs analyses, job/task analyses, and develop testable learning objectives.
  • Deliver classroom and hands‑on instruction for operational and technical topics.
  • Develop and maintain accurate training records, rosters, evaluations, and reports.
  • Support compliance with DOE O 426.2, Manual 4B, and applicable federal/DOE regulations.
  • Create and update task‑to‑training matrices, training materials, and Program Descriptions.
  • Review and evaluate training programs, materials, and instructor performance.
  • Respond to audits/surveillance and develop corrective action plans.
  • Monitor trainee performance and provide remediation as needed.
  • Guide junior training staff and contribute to program improvement efforts.
  • May act as Subcontract Technical Representative with oversight of subcontracted training personnel and budgets.
  • Support Management Field Observations (MFOs).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education and Experience (one of the following):
    • High School Diploma + 12 years’ relevant experience in education or field instructed
    • Associate's Degree + 8 years’ relevant experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree + 4 years’ relevant experience
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation aligned with DOE Manual 4B and SAT principles
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Able to deliver technical instruction and evaluate trainee performance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOE “Q” security clearance
Desired Skills
  • Experience with the SRS Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Familiarity with TM90-7 Site Hoisting and Rigging Manual
  • Ability to evaluate and revise training programs based on audits and trainee feedback
  • Strong knowledge of rigging and crane operations preferred
  • Proficiency in instructional design tools and processes
  • Ability to mentor other instructional staff
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Preferred: BS/BA degree
  • Preferred: 10+ years of experience as a qualified/certified Rigger or Mobile Crane Operator
  • Preferred:
    Experience as an Instructor/Developer and familiarity with DOE Orders and SRS policies
  • Must demonstrate ability to develop effective training from SME input and technical documents
  • Familiarity with Federal laws, DOE Orders, and industry training standards required
