Join to apply for the Additive Manufacturing Scientist 2 role at Los Alamos National Laboratory
.
Sigma Division focuses on manufacturing science emphasizing metallurgical processes and research in support of the experimental testing program at Los Alamos. The team focuses on all materials from hydrogen to uranium on the periodic table and encompasses many types of metal and ceramic additive manufacturing (AM), including laser powder bed fusion, electron beam additive manufacturing, cold spray, and associated processing. The AM team supports computational efforts, both internally and in collaboration with other LANL experts, to investigate compensation, residual stresses, material composition, and microstructure development.
The AM team works with the other teams in Sigma and beyond to solve manufacturing challenges, develop prototypes, provide metallurgical guidance, and lead the way in cutting‑edge AM processes. If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of additive manufacturing and have the technical expertise to make a real impact, we encourage you to apply. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, innovative team and contribute to the development of cutting‑edge manufacturing solutions.
