Engineer 2

As R&D Quality Engineer level 2 you will support Production Agency Quality for Quality Engineering (PAQ-1) group by ensuring quality assurance results, materials, processes and final products meet quality specifications and are completed according to established requirements. You will apply quality-control techniques and statistical process control methods to ensure processes follow current procedures, correct measurement methods, tools, and/or systems are used;

identify data-collection points and analyze data in order to identify failure modes, track trends, focus on improvement actions, rate performance and measure effectiveness. You will also define, identify and apply product and process control methods such as reviewing requirements, processing nonconformances and corrective actions, developing and validating work instructions, preparing, reviewing and approving quality documentation, participating in internal and external assessments and reviewing measuring and test equipment (M&TE).

You will identify and ensure all calibration systems are traceable to calibration standards.

Candidates shall obtain or possess and maintain a Q level clearance*, shall participate in Human Reliability Program (HRP) and may be required to support Alternative or Backshift Work schedules, as necessary. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.

  • Engineering:
    Demonstrated/thorough/advanced knowledge of and experience in engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, nuclear, chemical, or industrial.
  • Inspection Design:
    Demonstrated/thorough interpretation of various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings and schematics; thorough knowledge of ASME Y14.5M standard, mechanical inspection, machining tolerances, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and assembly processes.
  • Manufacturing:
    Experience working in production manufacturing, nuclear experience preferred.
  • Quality Knowledge:
    Demonstrated/thorough knowledge of, and experience in, conducting troubleshooting, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting quality assurance using processes such as root cause analysis, continuous improvement, configuration management, visual management, metrology, auditing, etc... Provide thorough and accurate documentation of technical and/or statistical reports and ensure quality assurance compliance.
  • Quality Standards:
    Demonstrated/thorough knowledge of and experience using national consensus standards of quality assurance, such as ASME, ISO 9001, IPC, ANSI/ASME, AS9100, NQA-1, etc. Thorough/advanced knowledge creating and improving processes and procedures for use by internal or external personnel.
  • Education & Experience R&D Engineer 2:
