Industrial Hygienist – Actalent
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist to manage and oversee various health and safety programs. The role involves conducting incident investigations, performing job hazard analyses, maintaining regulatory compliance, and conducting inspections and audits. The candidate will also carry out indoor air quality surveys, air sampling, noise monitoring, ventilation testing, radiation testing, and biological sampling.
Responsibilities- Perform incident investigations and job hazard analyses to ensure workplace safety.
- Maintain accurate record‑keeping and ensure day‑to‑day regulatory compliance.
- Conduct inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
- Perform indoor air quality surveys, air sampling, and noise monitoring.
- Conduct ventilation testing, radiation testing, and biological sampling.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain industrial hygiene monitoring and sampling equipment.
- Perform ergonomic evaluations to enhance workplace safety.
- Conduct worksite health hazard surveys and develop worker protection programs.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the workplace.
- Proficiency in industrial hygiene and environmental compliance.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Experience with radioactive environments, including at least one project.
- Ability to perform incident investigations and job hazard analyses (JHA).
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, physics, engineering, biological, or physical science, or a related field from an accredited school.
- Experience with remediation processes.
- Familiarity with compliance and radioactive materials.
This position requires on‑site presence 75% of the time, providing an opportunity to work at LANL, supporting the oversight for N3B in the remediation of waste. The role involves direct collaboration with the Department of Energy Environment Management at Los Alamos and exposure to advanced technologies and significant environmental management projects.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire position based out of Los Alamos, NM.
Pay & BenefitsPay range: $120,000 – $150,000 per hour.
