Dir,Business Opns/Sm Branch Position Summary
UNM-Los Alamos is seeking a person to serve as the Director of Business Operations. This position oversees the administrative and operational activities of the campus. This includes business and fiscal management, human resources, information systems, physical plant/facilities management, and related auxiliary services. Plans, oversees, and coordinates capital and operating expenditures, budgeting, and fiscal systems. Provides leadership in the cost-effective use of resources, administrative strategies, policies, and programs for the branch.

- Employees in this job title are subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract. Employment contracts are typically subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Master’s degree in Business or related field
- Professional certifications, such as CPA or CMA
- Experience with accounting and business operations at Higher Education institutions
- Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems.
- Knowledge of Human Resources practices.
- Skill in business planning and management.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to develop and implement creative revenue-generation plans, programs, and initiatives.
- Ability to research, analyze, and conceptualize long-term information systems needs on an organizational basis.
- Skills in employee development and performance management,including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Advanced project management and leadership skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the operational characteristics and requirements of an academic branch campus.
