The Weapons Mission Services Division (WMS-DO) is seeking a highly skilled Learning Specialist to directly support the Facility Training Team programs within the Facility Training and Compliance Group (WMS-2). The primary core tasks of the position will support the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP), including deployed personnel working in the ALDWP facilities, with the development and implementation of facility training programs in a highly complex and fast-paced work environment.
The Learning Specialist will report directly to the Facility Training Team First Line Manager (FLM). The selected individual will perform day-to-day training services for ALDWP Facility Training Team customer sets. The selected candidate will be a dedicated expert in applying the various requirements and drivers are compliant. The chosen candidate will have the responsibility to execute work that supports important training deliverables while always setting the standards for the utmost professional behavior and integrity in the workplace.
Assignments- Maintain compliant and high-quality training documents and records for diverse audiences
- Manage training courses, including scheduling, registration, and credit issuance
Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) to facilitate training assignments, course registration, and reporting
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Assist customers, stakeholders, and training department personnel to ensure training programs meet customer needs, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations
- Organize and process training records
- Prepare and manage training documents
- Administer the LMS, including managing course assignments, issuing training credits, and generating reports
- Manage and track training service request tickets, assign resources to review and approve training forms, and issue training credits
- Support course management objectives
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Proficiency in learning management system administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Familiarity with training program management and compliance
Job Requirements Operational Functions
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of business activities in an operational environment, including familiarity with one or more of the following: compliance practices, records management, training qualification programs.
- Experience implementing training/education programs for a wide variety of target audiences.
- Maintaining training documents and records, both physical and electronic to ensure records and documents are preserved in the repository and in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Experience working with customers, stakeholders, and regulators to assure training programs meet customer needs, regulatory drivers, and contractual requirements and providing guidance in interpreting regulations and policies to ensure compliance.
- Knowledge of business and operations systems and standard software applications (i.e. Microsoft and Adobe products).
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to the use of LANL business systems (i.e. Oracle, UTrain, Issues Management, etc.). Ability to effectively manage multiple complex and overlapping calendars.
- Experience working with confidential or proprietary information, classified documents or sensitive information, including CUI-Privacy training records. Understanding of safety and security requirements to individual responsibility and as applicable to training activities.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to conceptualize and communicate program requirements and detailed elements to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Demonstrated skill with interpersonal, written, and verbal communications as evidenced by internal and/or external interactions, seminars, briefings, and presentations. Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in sometimes stressful situations.
- Ability to interact professionally with all types of personnel, including external interfaces and executive management.
Education and Experience:
Position requires an Associate's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
