American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU/Preop position requiring prior PACU experience and NM compact or state RN licensure.
Details- Work in the Outpatient Surgery Center's PACU/Preop unit on the 3rd floor
- Shared position between PACU and Preop with no expectation to float elsewhere
- Primarily adult patient population with occasional ENT cases about once monthly
- Common diagnoses/treatments include appendectomy and gallbladder procedures
- 3-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
- Uses CQI and Medhost EHR systems
- Day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM
- On-call coverage required for nights and weekends with a 30-minute response time once notified of a case
- Every other weekend requirement
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact) in New Mexico currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior PACU experience required
- Preop experience preferred in addition to PACU
- Required documentation:
Date of birth and Social Security number - Fingerprinting required prior to hire per New Mexico state requirement, with documentation showing background check is in process
- May begin work on a 14-day waiver while awaiting background check results, under supervision
- Provide perianesthesia nursing care to surgical patients in the PACU and Preop settings
- Weekly orientation held on Mondays
- Candidates must be able to start within 7-10 days of offer acceptance due to urgent staffing need
- Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis
- Open-toed shoes and fake fingernails are not permitted
