Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking an experienced professional to join our Institutional Quality and Performance Assurance Plutonium Infrastructure Quality (IQPA-PIQ) Group. This role will report to the IQPA-PIQ Group Leader and will be responsible for quality assurance oversight of plutonium pit production and associated construction and maintenance activities.
What You Will DoTypical responsibilities include:
- Supporting implementation of the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Plutonium Infrastructure (ALD‑PI) quality management plan for construction in nuclear and radiological facilities.
- Collaborating across project portfolios to resolve quality issues and communicate resource alignment.
- Participating in quality program implementation, including management review boards, oversight, trending, surveillance, NCRs, etc.
- Providing expert quality support, strategic leadership, performance improvement, and strengthening the quality culture to advance laboratory growth.
- High‑level quality program management experience in construction and fabrication facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills for technical teams.
- Knowledge of NQA‑1, DOE Orders (10 CFR 830 Subpart
A), and associated quality assurance requirements. - Experience managing construction schedules, budgets, and compliance with facility and DOE standards.
- Clearance:
Active DOE Q Clearance; ability to be Q‑cleared. - Participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP); night or backshift work schedules may be required.
- Construction or QC inspection experience in a nuclear or security environment.
- Experience deploying quality program requirements in large complex organizations.
- Minimum of 2 years related management experience.
