PT Dental Assisting Instructor (Part‑time)

Foothill‑De Anza Community College District – Los Altos Hills, CA.

We are establishing a pool of qualified applicants for this position. Applications will remain on file for two years from receipt and will be accepted continuously until otherwise noted.

Selection Procedure

Applications will be screened by department representatives. Qualified applicants best meeting the division's needs will be contacted for an interview.

Responsibilities

Standard duties expected of all part‑time faculty, including instructional, counseling, or library duties as assigned; evaluation of student work, timely submission of grades; participation in performance assessment, including administrative and student evaluations; involvement in campus and staff development activities; eligible for additional pay for office hours, assignments, and professional development.
Teach didactic and clinical courses in four‑handed chair‑side technique, orthodontic procedures, dental materials, dental health education, dental sciences, dental radiography and related courses.

Working Conditions Environment

Indoor office environment.

Physical Abilities

Hearing and speaking adequate to exchange information.

Vision sufficient to read materials.

Dexterity of hands and fingers to perform required tasks.

Regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

Bending at waist, kneeling, or crouching.

Reaching overhead, above shoulders, horizontally.

Lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for diverse academic, socio‑economic, ethnic, religious, cultural, disability, and sexual orientation backgrounds of students, faculty, and staff.

Minimum qualifications as defined in the faculty and administrator criteria for California Community Colleges. Official transcripts verifying qualifications are required prior to offer. International transcripts must be evaluated by an independent educational‑equivalency company and translated into English if necessary at applicant’s expense.

Salary Range

Actual placement based on applicant’s verified education and experience. For the complete faculty salary schedule, refer to the district’s salary schedule.
