Position: PART TIME Higher Level Math Teacher

Job Overview

Join as a PART TIME Higher Level Math Teacher at College Advising Prep
. This role focuses on teaching coursework for grades 8 and above, with a particular emphasis on trigonometry, statistics, and calculus. You will also lead a small student learning community (SLC) off‑site and support students through a blend of online and in‑person instruction.

Compensation & Benefits

Part‑time, $30‑$40 per hour. Benefits include 401(k), flexible schedule, opportunities for advancement, training & development, and remote Fridays for prep work and occasional student meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Create curriculum and lesson plans that meet the needs of the students
  • Teach engaging, rigorous, and relevant lessons daily
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and the founder
  • Be open to constructive criticism and feedback on teaching methodologies
  • Assume a high level of personal responsibility for the students and their progress
  • Respond to the needs of the families and students
  • Implement developmentally appropriate activities for the age group
Professional Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience teaching higher‑level math for grades 8 and above
  • B.A./B.S. in a relevant field (Master’s Degree or Ph.D. preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge in calculus, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
  • California Teaching or Child Development Permit, or current eligibility to obtain one
  • Strong passion for math, enjoyment of working with middle and upper‑school students, emotional acuity, and a sense of humor
  • Ability to create a fun yet engaging curriculum
  • Skill in facilitating a positive learning environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • AA or BA in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a directly related field
  • Two years of experience as a Lead Teacher in a classroom
