Bank Customer Service
We are seeking a Banker in Los Altos, CA for a direct hire opportunity in a professional banking and consumer lending environment. This role is ideal for a customer-focused banking professional with teller experience, new account opening knowledge, and a strong commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
Key Responsibilities- Open, maintain, and close consumer accounts, basic business accounts, CDs, IRAs, and other account types based on experience level.
- Interview and profile clients to understand financial needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services.
- Process new account transactions and teller transactions while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and an excellent balancing record.
- Cross-sell banking products and refer clients to internal partners or appropriate staff for additional services.
- Maintain current knowledge of account documentation, proper account titling, banking procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Provide courteous, professional service in person and by phone while resolving client inquiries and supporting client retention.
- Pay range: $20.00 to $31.90 per hour.

- Open and support new consumer accounts and, depending on experience level, basic or complex business accounts.
- Process teller transactions, new account documentation, account maintenance, and account closures.
- Recommend banking products and services through client profiling, cross-selling, and referral activity.
- Support branch goals by delivering excellent service, maintaining compliance, and building strong client relationships.
- Minimum of 1 year of banking teller experience required, with 2 or more years preferred for higher-level consideration.
- Experience opening consumer accounts is required.
- Experience with basic business account opening may be required depending on level.
- Strong customer relations skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients and employees.
- Working knowledge of basic banking regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act and information security practices.
- Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment and professionalism.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and banking systems or core banking programs.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
- Positive, cooperative attitude with the ability to provide excellent service in a fast-paced branch environment.
- Experience opening basic business accounts.
- Experience with complex business accounts, Trust and Estate accounts, or Treasury Services support.
- Prior supervisory or backup supervisory experience in a branch banking environment.
- Experience generating referrals, supporting business development efforts, or contributing to branch growth goals.
