Overview

Transforming the lives of those affected by severe mental illness

Amae Health is dedicated to helping the 15.4 million Americans living with severe mental illness (SMI) lead stable, meaningful lives, while ending the cycle of repeat hospitalizations. In partnership with top academic medical centers, we have pioneered an outpatient care model that combines compassionate, in-person psychiatric care with comprehensive wraparound support. Our integrated care teams — including psychiatrists, therapists, primary care physicians, health coaches, and peer support specialists — work together to treat the whole person, addressing physical, mental, and social needs in unison to help patients thrive.

Amae Health is a Series A venture-backed Public Benefit Corporation dedicated to becoming the nation’s center of excellence for individuals living with SMI. We collaborate with prestigious health systems and investors, underscoring our commitment to transforming mental health care delivery at scale.

We are hiring a Psychiatrist (FT/PT) to join us onsite in our Los Altos clinic as part of an interdisciplinary team committed to providing personalized, compassionate and high-quality SMI care.

The Opportunity

As a Psychiatrist at Amae you will play an integral role in our mission to become the center of excellence for SMI care. In alignment with Amae’s holistic wrap-around care model, you will co-manage a panel of complex members through behavioral health assessments, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, treatment planning, clinical treatment, medication management, and follow-up planning. Working within a collaborative, shared decision-making model, you will partner with clinical staff, peer specialists, primary care providers and community partners.

As a patient advocate, you will help members navigate health and social services systems in {{clinic location}}, work closely with patients to address problems, gather information and provide advice, and connect patients to resources and the community. You will establish and maintain trusting relationships with patients and families as you care for Amae Health members.

About You

A provider who thrives at the intersection of clinical best practice, innovative care models and the latest technology, caring for complex patients is your north star. Curious and inventive, you ask questions that move beyond the status quo, and take pride in contributing to an organization that is advancing SMI care. If you are excited to work with a dedicated, compassionate interdisciplinary team building the center of excellence for SMI care, we would love to hear from you.
