Bookkeeper

Location: Woodland Hills, CA

Position Type: Full-Time (On-Site)

Base Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year

Overview:

We are a reputable and growing personal injury law firm seeking a detail-oriented and dependable bookkeeper to join our team. This position plays a critical role in managing the firm’s day-to-day financial operations and reports directly to the owner. The ideal candidate has a strong background in bookkeeping, preferably within a professional services or legal environment, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, including vendor management and client invoicing
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for review by the firm owner
  • Manage payroll and related tax filings in coordination with payroll provider
  • Monitor trust account activity to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards
  • Track and allocate expenses to appropriate matters or clients
  • Support budgeting and financial planning processes
  • Coordinate with the firm’s CPA or external accountant as needed
  • Maintain financial records in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role (2+ years preferred)
  • Must have personal injury law firm experience
  • Proficiency with Online Quick Books
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
Education:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • Bookkeeping or accounting certification a plus
Working Conditions:
  • This position requires on-site presence during regular business hours
  • Professional office environment within a law firm setting
