CGP: Senior Tax Accountant; Indirect Tax

Position: CGP: Senior Tax Accountant (Indirect Tax)
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $43.00 to $48.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit monthly sales and use tax filings across multiple states and jurisdictions
• Maintain compliance calendars for property taxes, licenses, and other regulatory deadlines
• Support audits by gathering documentation and coordinating with city and state agencies
• Record journal entries and reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts during close cycles
• Serve as a resource for tax-related inquiries, including product taxability and exemption certificates

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2+ years in tax accounting, with exposure to indirect taxes such as sales, use, and property tax
• 2-5+ years of general accounting experience, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Proficient in Excel functions such as pivot tables, lookups, and filters for handling large datasets
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple deadlines
• Familiarity with accounting software; experience with PDI is helpful but not required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing tax filings and financial records
• Ability to interpret tax regulations and apply them across multi-location operations
• Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Demonstrated initiative and reliability in completing tasks with minimal supervision
