Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process monthly sales and use tax returns and payments for multiple states
- Maintain a calendar of due dates for sales and property taxes, licenses, and other filings
- Coordinate and support city and state tax audits by gathering required documentation
- Participate in monthly and year-end close processes including journal entries and reconciliations
- Reconcile tax received versus remitted at the store level and take corrective action as needed
- 3+ years of tax accounting experience focused on sales, use, excise, and property taxes
- 2+ years of general accounting experience including monthly close and reconciliations
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software; experience with PDI is a plus
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
- Communicate effectively with tax authorities, external accountants, and internal teams
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with solid knowledge of accounting principles
- Understand and utilize sales tax software and tools to streamline reporting and analysis
- Exhibit excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in all financial tasks
- Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned by management
- Demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and a positive attitude while supporting company values
