CGP: Staff Accountant

We are searching for a skilled Staff Accountant to join a family-owned and operated real estate investment company in Los Angeles. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $33 to $40 per hour.

Job Description:

• Perform GL review and analysis.
• Maintain accurate financial records, reports, and general ledger accounts.
• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile daily transactions.
• Collaborate with other accounting staff to review client accounts, history, and open balances.
• Prepare journal entries, analysis, and account reconciliations, assisting with monthly close processes.
• Maintain account documentation and conduct internal audits.
• Complete distributions to investors.
• Reconcile and resolve financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
• Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Prepare bank account and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly revenue entries, various month-end accruals, re-class and allocation entries.
• Manage month-end balance sheet package.

Requirements:

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
• Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences

Experience:

• Prior real estate industry experience
• Background in corporate accounting at real estate company, exposure to property accounting
• Yardi preferred, will consider MRI
• Competent in Excel
