Senior Accounting Manager

Century Group is working with a great company in the logistics industry who is in search of a Senior Accounting Manager to join their team in Los Angeles. This position will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.

Expected starting base salary $120,000 to $130,000 per year.

Job Description:

• Manage all relevant accounting processes including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Tax, systemic ERP functions
• Assist with other accounting responsibilities including collaboration with the Billings, Payables, and Operations teams.
• Review and approve of material calculations & estimates and post to the G/L.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Ensure complete, accurate and timely financial close in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement analysis around budget, forecast and historical information.
• Manage the annual audit process with the external auditors to provide a timely and successful audit engagement.
• Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies.
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establish the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal reporting requirements including tax agencies and management of D&B profiles.

Requirements:

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
• Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree Accounting, or Business Management/Administration
• Licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), preferred
• 10+ years of overall professional experience (public and private preferred)
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), specifically appropriate application of ASC 606, 842 and 740
• Experience managing tax compliance timelines, filings and payments
• Demonstrated experience in leading accounting/ERP migrations and/or integrations with a focus on gaining process efficiencies
• Intermediate/Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel in financial and data analysis
