Staff Accountant

Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a contract to hire position. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.

+ Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.

+ Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

+ Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP.

+ Support the preparation of financial statements and reports.

+ Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.

+ Analyze variances and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

+ 3+ years of accounting experience (public or corporate).

+ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP) and MS Excel.

+ Strong understanding of GAAP principles.

+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
